| The DVD is the further development of the CD. With the demand for ever greater storage capacities for computer applications of the next generation, the storage volume of CDs was quickly exhausted. |

The storage volume of the DVD is expanded through a compression of the data recording. In addition, a different modulation procedure was selected and the error correction optimised.
In comparison with a normal CD (650 MB), a DVD can hold 7.4 times more data (4.7 GB) with the same diameter.
The most frequent form of damage to a DVD is deep scratches or so-called burning errors with which the file system cannot be properly completed.
CONVAR - Die DatenretterT has developed special technologies and procedures with which even DVD media damaged in this way can be restored. |
