USB-Memorystick
A USB memory stick can be read and written like a normal hard drive.
Simply insert it into the USB port - even while the operating system is running - and it is available as an additional drive. The memory stick offers significantly more memory space than a diskette and can be protected with a password.

Once removed from the socket, the stick can be carried anywhere as a mobile medium. The installation of a driver is not required (except for Windows 98) and the "USB stick" does not need a power cable. If your PC does not have a USB connection on the front side of the case, a USB extension cable will make things easier. Simply plug the cable into the USB port on the rear of the case and run it around the computer, then you can easily connect your stick to the cable.

In addition, there are now USB memory sticks that also act as a USB hub. This means that when connecting the stick, you do not lose an open USB port, but can also use additional USB devices through the stick.
