A loud squeaking noise and also a raw scraping coming from the hard drive usually means stock or motor damage. This means: turn off your drive immediately!!!
A defective hard drive motor usually shows itself through two symptoms.
The hard drive doesn't turn on at all. This can also be caused by a defective logic or an incorrect voltage supply.
Uneven spinning of the motor. Often a coil in the motor has failed. With some drives you can then hear a soft whistling or a strong squeaking.
In some cases similar symptoms are caused by a defective stock. Here it is the same case as with defective heads - the use of data recovery software is not possible. You should stop any more attempts on your own so as not to damage the drive any further and contact our data recovery lab right away.
